Taipei, Taiwan –
March 21, 2008 - SPARKLE Computer Co., Ltd., the professional
VGA card manufacturer and supplier, today announced a
special zone for SPARKLE series passive cooling Graphics Cards
on official Website, located at (http://www.sparkle.com.tw/News/web_passive/passive_index.html)
this special zone will
showcase all SPARKLE Graphics Cards which use passive
cooling solution, also customers can find out the knowledge
of passive cooling technology.
Helped with strong R&D teams and capability,
SPARKLE employs passive cooling techniques into SPARKLE GeForce
7/8/9 graphics cards, to eliminate cumbersome mechanical cooling,
reduce the size and cost of the cooling equipment, such as
cooling fans or water block, to create a undisturbed working
environments.
Now
SPARKLE provides two advanced passive cooling solutions for users who seek
valiant 3D rendering power with 0dB working environments. The first passive
cooling solutions adopts exquisitely made heat sinks to absorb and dissipate
heat from GPU using thermal direct contact. Heat sinks function by
efficiently transferring thermal energy ("heat") from GPUs at high
temperature to a second object at a lower temperature with a much greater
heat capacity. This rapid transfer of thermal energy quickly brings GPUs
into thermal equilibrium with the second, lowering the surface temperature
of the GPUs , fulfilling the heat sink's role as a cooling device. The heat
sinks designed for SPARKLE graphics cards embrace large amount of fins, to
give high thermal conductivity and large heat spread surface area to users,
resulting in the rapid transfer of thermal energy to the surrounding,
cooler, air. So users of SPARKLE Passive Cooling series Graphics Cards
don't need to worry about the over-heat problems when they enjoy 0dB working
environments.
To further
satisfy the rigorous cooling demand from GeForce 9 series GPUs, such
as GeForce 9600 GT etc, SPARKLE deliberately imports Heat Pipe technology
into SPARKLE GeForce 9 series Passive Cooling Graphic Cards. A heat pipe for
SPARKLE GeForce 9 series Passive Cooling Graphic Cards uses heat transfer
mechanism that can transport large quantities of heat with a very small
difference in temperature between the hotter and colder interfaces. Inside a
heat pipe, at the hot interface a fluid turns to vapour and the gas
naturally flows and condenses on the cold interface. The liquid falls or is
moved by capillary action back to the hot interface to evaporate again and
repeat the cycle.
With strong R&D
teams,
the heat pipes used in
SPARKLE
GeForce 9 series Passive Cooling Graphic Cards
have great efficiency in
transferring heat. They are actually a vastly better heat conductor than an
equivalent cross-section of solid copper heat sinks . Heat flows of more
than 230 MW/m^2 have been recorded (nearly 4 times the heat flux at the
surface of the sun).
“Our SPARKLE GeForce 7/8/9 Passive Cooling series graphics cards are equipped with high-tech passive cooling solutions, such as
consummately made heat sinks, heat pipes with unparalleled
cooling efficiency." Said Joe Lo, product director of SPARKLE Computer Co.,
Ltd. "By Introducing
SPARKLE Passive Cooling series graphics cards, SPARKLE totally exhibits its
R&D capability in grahics cards cooling area. SPARKLE insists on providing
complete silent graphic cards for our customers without sacrificing DirectX
9 and DirectX 10 3D performance.
